5 Reasons to Twitter

I have been greatly hesitant to be join the community of the next big thing… Twitter.

If you don’t know much about it, watch this video. It’ll help.

Here are five reasons to start twittering your own self!

1) If you twitter, then your day to day life will become a ton more interesting to those involved with your twitter community. “I just ate eggs and almost choked because they were so bad” gives you something to talk about with your friends later. This will help especially in awkward silences. You can follow others deep and “not so deep” thoughts as well.

2) Twittering helps you to evaluate your own life. How often do we downplay our lives or become lethargic because of a seeming lack in forward motion in your lives? Twitter helps us evaluate the good and the bad in our day to day motions. It helps you do define clearly what you care about and where you spend your time. You get to pick what is most important to you or what you have learned most recently or where you will never eat again.

3) Twittering helps you to understand other people. Where do other people spend there time? What do they value enough to twitter? What are their passions and their loves in life? How can you help them? Do you know what people do during the day? Do you care about them?

4) Twittering helps you to be held accountable. If you have a few people that you are following that are “forward moving” and achievers, it can put you in a position where you are inspired and spurred on very regularly. And you can do this for others who follow you as well, by twittering your own inspirations and learning moments.

5) Twittering helps you develop a community using a method that is very hands on and mobile. If you are following 15 people and they are following 15 people etc etc…. it develops into quite widespread web of inspiration and randomness. If you are all about your community becoming “sticky,” then you may want to use this next generation tool to help your community achieve that goal. You don’t have to be home or on a computer. You can be wherever you are and people can be wherever they are. It is not locationally limited. Except Antartica maybe?

think about all the extra time george , jerry, elaine, and kramer could have saved if they had twitter in the 90s.
