Vacant Hands evan shaw blackerby twitterfacebookemail

Do you get the big picture?

I get caught up in details. I end up debating endlessly about color choices, 15 minutes here or there, and the order of doing things. You and I are probably alike in that we over-think things….

Sometimes we can bury the things that we could get done, with the small stuff. It has a way of adding up.

Why do we have such trouble making the main thing the main thing? Do you have this crazy syndrome? How much better would you feel if you simply broke free of all things that you should do, and did the things you’ve been dreaming about?

Do you dream big? Are they stuck in ‘dream world’ because you and I are alike in that we fear failure, fear success, and fear ________? What if you cut through the fluff and got something done?

Jesus always seemed to make the main thing the main thing. He often had time for interruptions. He often prayed instead of healing people. What is most important for you? Why don’t you do it?

Why not now?

Man, you must have dropped by my house this weekend. I often feel like the list of things I need to do outweighs the list of things I want to do. Frequently, they are both important lists, but I really do need to manage them better and more importantly say “NO” to the things I neither need to do nor really want to do (at least more than other things).
