As Jay moves back to the Tonight Show, I still find myself inspired by Conan’s last few moments on that show.

I’m not the greatest or most committed fan of Conan O’Brien. He does some things that are funny, others that I find crude. Nevertheless. Conan doesn’t simply have a following because of his ‘underdog’ status or that Jay Leno was perceived to have ‘done him wrong’ in many ways. It wasn’t because of some people on Twitter trying to stick up for the ‘little guy’ by joining #teamcoco.

The reason why Conan O’Brien wins is because of the self-effacing humor and attitude of humility that led to this speech in the last moments of his last night on the Tonight Show. This is simply the product of who Conan O’Brien is. Classy, direct speech and well-used time in front of his already fired-up audience.

I believe that I have something to learn from him. Do you?
